Basketball National League South Africa

The Basketball National League (BNL) is a South African professional basketball league with men’s and women’s competition. Its official service publishes fixtures, results, standings, player statistics, league news and video highlights, and describes the BNL as South Africa’s professional basketball league. The BNL’s historical record lists men’s champions from 2013 and women’s champions from 2021, reflecting the later development of the women’s division. The 2026 season began on 6 June; the official site reports that Soweto Panthers won the men’s title and Tshwane Suns won the women’s title, both after unbeaten seasons. The league also runs the BNL Schools Challenge. This entry concerns the professional league operator and its competitions, not Basketball South Africa, a national federation, or an individual franchise.
