Southwestern Athletic Conference - Basketball

Southwestern Athletic Conference Basketball is the men’s and women’s basketball competition administered by the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), an NCAA Division I conference and one of the United States’ leading HBCU athletic conferences. Its official platform provides schedules, seedings, results, statistics, broadcasts and championship coverage for the league’s 12 institutions. The 2026 tournaments at Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta were won by Prairie View A&M, which defeated Southern 72–66 for the men’s title and the SWAC automatic NCAA bid, and Southern, which defeated Alabama State 73–56 for the women’s title and its second consecutive NCAA berth. From 2027 the tournaments will use a top-ten-team format and take place at Gateway Center Arena from 9 to 13 March. This profile concerns the SWAC basketball organiser and championships, not a member university or another HBCU league.
