Georgia High School Association - Basketball

Georgia High School Association Basketball is the statewide interscholastic basketball programme administered by the Georgia High School Association (GHSA), a member of the National Federation of State High School Associations. GHSA regulates boys’ and girls’ competition for member schools under NFHS basketball rules, with schools aligned by region and state championship events in each classification. The 2026–27 regulations allow up to 25 regular-season games and require 22 games for postseason eligibility. The championship pathway progresses through region and state tournament rounds, with semifinals at centralised sites and the final round known as the Dr. Ralph Swearngin Basketball Championships. In 2026, the boys’ champions ranged from Darlington in Private through Wheeler in 6A, while the girls’ champions ranged from Hebron Christian in Private through North Paulding in 6A; Houston County won the AAASP wheelchair championship.
