Great Midwest Athletic Conference - Football

The Great Midwest Athletic Conference administers NCAA Division II football for member institutions in the Midwest. The 2026 competition includes Ashland, Findlay, Hillsdale, Kentucky Wesleyan, Lake Erie, Northwood, Ohio Dominican, Tiffin, Thomas More and Walsh. The conference promotes, conducts and regulates intercollegiate sport as a Division II model conference and selects All-Conference teams and individual awards through votes of its member coaches. In the 2025 season, Ashland finished 8–1 in Great Midwest play, earned a share of the conference championship and won an NCAA Division II playoff game. Ashland’s Michael Shimek was the conference Defensive Player of the Year, while Northwood’s Ethan Hamby and Findlay’s Sam Weihrauch were recognized as the 2025–26 football Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in the conference awards listing.
