Mountain East Conference - Football

The Mountain East Conference administers NCAA Division II football for its member institutions. The 2026 league schedule uses eight conference games over the final nine dates permitted by the NCAA calendar, giving each program four home and four away league games; teams may also play up to three non-conference contests. Frostburg State and the University of Charleston shared the 2025 MEC championship with 7–1 conference records. Frostburg State received the NCAA Division II automatic qualifier on the tiebreaker, reached the national quarterfinals and finished 11–3 overall. West Liberty running back Hunter Patterson was named 2025 MEC Offensive Player of the Year, Charleston linebacker Aden Miller Defensive Player of the Year and Frostburg State’s Eric Wagoner Coach of the Year. Official MEC statistics record the active 2026 conference season.
