City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation

The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department is the municipal public-service department responsible for parks, open space, recreation facilities and sport opportunities in Fort Worth, Texas. Its mission is to enrich residents’ lives through stewardship of public resources and responsive recreational opportunities and community services. The department maintains more than 300 parks, athletic fields, trails, community centres, pools, golf courses and specialised facilities, and runs youth and adult athletic programmes as well as field-rental services for local, regional and national organisations. Youth sports are headquartered at Sycamore Community Center and include basketball, baseball, softball, T-ball, volleyball and soccer. Adult recreational leagues include basketball, flag football, softball and volleyball. The Athletics Division also directly provides pickleball and administers the Fort Worth Classic softball tournament and Fort Worth Cup soccer tournament; city facilities additionally host activities such as kickball, rugby, cricket and ultimate Frisbee. The Haws Athletic Center is the headquarters for adult sports, while the McLeland Tennis Center supports public tennis and pickleball. This is a municipal recreation department rather than an independent sports federation.
