Western District Cricket Union
Scotland - Cricket
The Western District Cricket Union (WDCU) is the regional body that organises and develops cricket in the west of Scotland. Its roots in organising competitive cricket extend to the early 1890s, and its current constitution charges it with promoting and improving cricket in the West District designated by Cricket Scotland. WDCU runs league championships, cup competitions, junior cricket and representative teams; it also supports coaching, coach education, cricket administrators and officials. Its member clubs span a wide area from Stirling, Stenhousemuir, Coatbridge and Uddingston to Dumfries and Ayr. The union is governed by an elected Executive Committee and Cricket Management Committee, and publishes fixtures, playing conditions, club information, discipline and appeals documents, results, tables and historical records. In 2026 it moved domestic registration and live scoring activity toward Cricket Scotland's PlayHQ platform. WDCU is a regional association within Scottish cricket, not an independent national governing body.
