Basketball Wales

Basketball Wales is the recognised national governing body for basketball in Wales. Sport Wales lists it as the sport’s Welsh NGB, and Basketball Wales states that it governs and develops basketball across the country. Its work includes club affiliation and membership, regional and national leagues, competitions, coach and referee education, schools activity, 3×3 events, performance pathways and national teams. The organisation’s National Academy and Development Academy provide player pathways for boys and girls, with selections for Wales teams in Four Nations competition at under-14, under-15 and under-17 level. Its talent-selection policy applies to Wales national teams in 5v5 and 3×3. In 2026 Basketball Wales continued to publish Welsh National League results, coaching initiatives and governance developments. This record concerns the Welsh governing body rather than the interim Great Britain delivery structure, a local club or a professional league.
