Rwanda Football Association

The Rwanda Football Federation, Fédération Rwandaise de Football Association (FERWAFA), is Rwanda’s national football federation. Established in 1972 and affiliated with CAF and FIFA in 1978, it is a non-governmental, non-profit body with the national mandate to develop football and organise football competitions throughout Rwanda. FERWAFA governs domestic competitions, national teams and football development across age groups, including women’s, youth, futsal and beach-soccer programmes. Its statutes and regulations cover competitions, discipline, elections, refereeing and club licensing; it operates the Rwanda Premier League and national youth and women’s competitions. The federation supports grassroots talent development, women’s football pathways and the management of domestic and CAF club-competition entry requirements.
