South Atlantic Conference - Track and Field

The South Atlantic Conference (SAC) sponsors NCAA Division II men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field for its member institutions. The conference added men's and women's outdoor track and field as championship sports in 2013 and indoor track and field in 2017. It publishes sport policy manuals, composite schedules, championship results, awards and NCAA qualification news. Wingate University won both the men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field SAC championships in 2025-26. The 2026-27 SAC championship schedule lists the indoor championships for 27-28 February at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and the outdoor championships for 28-29 April at the Food City Sports Complex in Emory, Virginia. SAC athletes also advance to NCAA Division II national competition; in 2026, 20 male student-athletes from seven SAC institutions qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. The conference presents annual awards voted on by coaches, including Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Its official website provides schedules, championship resources, results and news for the programme.
