Virginia High School League

United States - Track and Field

The Virginia High School League administers outdoor track and field championships for Virginia member schools. The VHSL publishes state and regional results for boys and girls in Classes 1 through 6, together with championship meet information, schedules, venue maps, lodging information, qualifying standards and all-state resources. The 2027 VHSL Outdoor Track State Championships are scheduled for 4-5 June: Classes 1-2 at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Classes 3-4 at Liberty University in Lynchburg, and Classes 5-6 at Todd Stadium in Newport News. The 2026 championships used the same three venue groupings. State qualification was based on the top four regional finishers in each event and athletes who attained the state standard at a qualifying sanctioned meet, with regional directors verifying performances through the MileStat database. The 2026 Class 3 girls’ championship was won by Heritage High School of Lynchburg for its fifth consecutive state title; Heritage scored 106 points and won the triple jump, 100-metre hurdles, 300-metre hurdles, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay. Robinson Secondary School won the 2026 Class 6 girls’ team championship, and its Olivia Jones won the 400 metres; Woodson’s Hadley Vanek won the Class 6 girls’ 800 metres. Official VHSL resources provide the authoritative schedules, regulations, results and qualification materials.
