New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association - Fencing
United States - Fencing
The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) administers New Jersey high-school fencing competition, including boys’ and girls’ team state championships and individual state championships. Its official fencing programme publishes the season calendar, entry materials, classifications, tournament regulations, regular-season rules, rankings procedures, staff contact and post-season committee minutes. For the 2026-27 cycle, the programme scheduled the boys’ state final and girls’ state final for 25 February 2027 at Morris Hills High School, following sectional rounds hosted by the higher seed, and scheduled the individual state championships for 27 February 2027 at Hunterdon Central High School. The 2025-26 regulations use NCAA fencing rules subject to NJSIAA modifications. For the team tournament, the top 16 teams in each of the North and South sections qualify by Power Point ranking; each section winner advances to the state championship. Individual competitors must be among the top 36 in the Touch-by-Touch ranking for their gender and weapon discipline, based on regular-season team-match performance. A student must generally compete in at least half of the school’s total matches to be eligible for the NJSIAA state tournament. NJSIAA’s Fencing Committee supports the administration of the sport in an advisory capacity.
