Georgia High School Association - Riflery

The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) administers a co-ed state-championship programme in three-position air riflery for eligible Georgia high schools of every classification. Its riflery pages publish the competition calendar, area and sectional information, results archives, rules, state coordinator, playoff material and championship history. Schools enter the programme before the stated deadline and are assigned to an Area overseen by an Area chairperson; athletes must be certified eligible through GHSA and have a sports physical on file. The state competition qualifies the 15 semifinal winners plus the two teams with the highest losing semifinal scores. Team members at the championship also compete for the individual title, while additional athletes can qualify individually by shooting 292 or higher in a qualifying regular-season or playoff match. The 2026 championship was held at the Ware County Shooting Complex, where North Gwinnett won the team title with 2,337 points; Briana Dougherty of Camden County won the individual competition. The 2026-27 championship is scheduled for 20 March 2027 at the same venue. In the three-position format, competitors shoot at 10 metres from prone, standing and kneeling positions; state-final individual competition uses a 3x20 course, and the highest eight scores advance to the individual finals.
