Seattle Parks & Recreation
United States - Multi-sport
Seattle Parks and Recreation is the City of Seattle’s municipal department for public parks, community recreation, sport facilities and programmes. It maintains more than 400 parks and provides activities for all ages through community centres, athletic fields, pools, golf facilities, boating centres and specialised recreation sites. Its Citywide Athletics programme gives young people seasonal sports opportunities designed to develop sportsmanship, skills and enthusiasm. Current youth offerings include track and field, volleyball, basketball and flag football, with registration and team placement coordinated through local community centres; financial assistance may be available and volunteer coaches and officials support the programmes. Adult Sports offers seasonal leagues and activities in basketball, softball, flag football, pickleball, roller derby, track and field and lawn bowling. The 2026 spring/summer adult softball programme includes co-ed, men’s and women’s leagues, while flag-football formats run year-round. The department also provides public tennis, pickleball, golf, rowing, sailing and kayaking opportunities. This record concerns a municipal recreation and facility operator rather than an independent sports federation.
