Australian Championship

The Australian Championship is Australia’s national second-tier men’s club football competition, established by Football Australia rather than a national football federation in its own right. It began in 2025 with 16 clubs: eight foundation clubs and eight clubs qualifying through National Premier League competitions. The Championship connects state-based football with the A-League Men pathway and offers a national platform for established community clubs and emerging talent. Its format uses four groups of four followed by a finals series, with Football Australia confirming the participating clubs and competition arrangements. The official platform publishes fixtures, results, groups, club information, regulations and competition news.
