Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa

Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa is New Zealand’s premier women’s basketball league, established by Basketball New Zealand in 2022. The competition brings regional teams together for a domestic season and playoffs, combining New Zealand talent with overseas players and supporting the development pathway for the Tall Ferns national programme. Tauihi is operated through Basketball New Zealand’s league structure and publishes match schedules, results, standings, team information, player news and competition rules. Its 2026 season includes a Rapid League game before every regular-season Tauihi fixture; Rapid League is a separate short-format competition whose results contribute to the Tauihi ladder. The 2025 title was won by Tauranga Whai. This record concerns the national women’s league and its operator, not an individual club, the men’s National Basketball League or the New Zealand national team.
