Nelson Basketball Association

Nelson Basketball Association is the basketball association for Nelson City and the wider Tasman region of New Zealand. Founded in 1968, it operates from its association-owned Jack Robins Memorial Stadium in Stoke and administers basketball participation, competitions, programmes and events for local members. The association serves around 1,750 members through winter leagues from Miniball to senior grades, played across five nights each week from April to September, as well as mixed summer leagues. Its junior offering includes Basketball New Zealand’s Kiwi Hoops programme, skill sessions and 3x3 leagues; it also delivers girls’ development and participation programmes, coach and referee opportunities, registrations, draws and results. This record concerns the regional association, not the Nelson Giants NBL club, Nelson Hoops Association in Canada, a school or a single league.
