Illinois High School Association

The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) administers the Illinois boys' and girls' interscholastic water polo state series. Its tournament structure includes sectional and super-sectional qualification before the state finals, with official balls, tournament procedures, officials and awards governed through IHSA materials. The 2026 boys' and girls' state finals were scheduled for 21 to 23 May; Stevenson won the boys' championship by defeating Brother Rice 10-9, while Stevenson won the girls' championship over York, 16-11. IHSA maintains state-final schedules, scores, historical title tables and season records on its official website. Illinois Water Polo works with the IHSA to support the spring boys' and girls' state finals and water-polo development in the state.
