New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association - Gymnastics
United States - Gymnastics
The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) administers interscholastic gymnastics for member high schools in New Jersey. The programme provides team and independent-athlete entry systems, tournament and regular-season regulations, team classifications, National Federation rule updates, committee minutes and championship history. The 2026 season began practice on 17 August, with competition permitted from 24 August. The state tournament includes Group A, B, C and D sectional championships on 7 November at Scotch Plains, Saint Thomas Aquinas, Hillsborough and Manalapan high schools, followed by the team championship on 12 November and individual championship on 14 November at Brick Memorial High School. Championship meets are governed by National Federation Girls Gymnastics Rules and NJSIAA modifications. Team scoring uses the top three scores in each event for each school, while individual scoring uses the average optional score in each event. Independent athletes from member schools that do not sponsor gymnastics may enter the individual state tournament when they meet published entry and supervision requirements. The NJSIAA Gymnastics Committee reviews National Federation rule changes and recommends permitted state modifications; its structure includes an executive-committee representative, tournament director, state rules interpreter, state assignor, coaches and athletic administrators. The association maintains historical gymnastics championship records from 1974 onward.
