Georgia High School Association - Swimming & Diving

The Georgia High School Association administers interscholastic swimming and diving for its member high schools in Georgia. The GHSA organises region and state events, applies National Federation swimming rules subject to its own published regulations, manages qualification and entry procedures, and supports the training and evaluation of officials. Swimming and diving are classified into four state championship divisions: 6A, 5A, 4A and combined 1A-3A, with separate boys’ and girls’ championships. The 2026 state championships ran from 2 to 7 February at the Georgia Tech McAuley Aquatic Center for swimming and Marist School for diving. Brookwood, Lassiter, Marist and Greater Atlanta Christian won the boys’ division titles, while South Forsyth, Lassiter, Marist and Greater Atlanta Christian were the girls’ champions. GHSA’s swimming and diving policies limit regular-season swimming competition and regulate team entries, relay entries, individual-event participation and qualifying standards. Its diving programme provides official score sheets, checklists and a six-dive qualification format; the state format requires a voluntary dive plus five optionals, with the top ten from preliminaries advancing to repeat their dives in the final. The 2027 championship is scheduled for diving on 30 January at Marist and swimming from 3 to 6 February at Georgia Tech.
