Virginia High School League - Gymnastics

The Virginia High School League administers interscholastic gymnastics championships for Virginia member schools. The sport’s official VHSL programme publishes season dates, regional and state qualifying information, rules-clinic requirements, qualifying standards, entry forms, rotations and state results. The 2026-27 season begins practice on 9 November and contests on 30 November; regional competition begins on 6 February, with the regional deadline on 13 February. The VHSL Gymnastics Championships are scheduled for 19-20 February 2027, with team finals on 19 February and individual finals on 20 February. The championship programme includes Class 6 and Class 5 state results as well as individual all-around, vault, bars, beam and floor results. In the 2026 Class 6 championship at Kellam High School in Virginia Beach, Battlefield High School won the programme’s first state gymnastics title, defeating Lake Braddock 147.950 to 147.650. Robinson Secondary School’s Addison Rowland won the Class 6 floor exercise title. The VHSL identifies an assistant director for athletics and a rules interpreter for gymnastics, and requires coaches at sponsoring schools to complete the online rules clinic. Official VHSL resources provide schedules, regulations, qualifying standards, tournament forms, brackets and results.
