Illinois Water Polo

Illinois Water Polo (IWP) supports the development and organisation of water polo in Illinois for players, coaches, clubs and high schools. It works with the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) on the spring boys’ and girls’ state finals, helps educate athletes, officials and coaches, and recognises outstanding service and performance through annual All-State activities. IWP publishes schedules for the IHSA spring high-school season, summer high-school and age-group leagues, fall boys’ high-school and age-group leagues, winter girls’ high-school leagues and Midwest Masters tournaments. Its summer high-school league follows IHSA rules and requires current player, coach and referee membership in American Water Polo. In 2026, IWP announced boys’ and girls’ All-Sectional and All-State teams and held an All-State Banquet. The IHSA state tournament series used eight sectional sites, four super-sectionals and a 22-23 May 2026 state final hosted by Barrington High School.
