Central Asian Football Association

World - Football

The Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) is the regional football association for Central Asia and one of the Asian Football Confederation’s five regional associations. Established in 2015 and headquartered in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, it brings together the national associations of Afghanistan, Iran, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. CAFA develops and promotes football in the region through competitions, youth and development programmes, workshops and cooperation among its members. Its remit includes organising football competitions for different categories and supporting access to the game regardless of gender or age. The official platform publishes regional news, competition information, governance material and member-association details, including coverage of men’s, women’s, youth and futsal events. CAFA’s statutes set English as its official language and describe its cooperation within the AFC and FIFA football framework.
