Virginia High School League

The Virginia High School League administers boys’ and girls’ interscholastic wrestling championships for member schools across Virginia. The VHSL programme publishes season dates, state and regional brackets, weight-control resources, tournament information, facility policies, all-state teams and rules-clinic requirements. The 2026-27 season begins practice on 9 November and contests on 30 November; regional competition starts on 3 February and concludes by 13 February. Boys’ state championships run from 17 to 20 February 2027: Classes 3-4 compete at Salem Civic Center on 17-18 February, Classes 1-2 at Salem on 19-20 February, and Classes 5-6 at Virginia Beach Sports Center on 19-20 February. Girls’ championships are divided into Classes 1-4 at Salem and Classes 5-6 at Virginia Beach, both on 19-20 February. VHSL’s 2026 brackets covered boys’ Classes 1 through 6 and an open girls’ championship. Oakton High School achieved the highest team score at the 2026 girls’ state championship at Henrico Sports and Events Center. Woodgrove won its third consecutive Class 4 boys’ title with 153 points, qualifying ten wrestlers and producing individual champions Camden Murray and Sawyer Jones.
