Solent Softball League

Solent Softball League (SSL) is a mixed slowpitch softball league serving the Solent region of southern England. Founded in Portsmouth in 1995, it grew from a small local competition into a regional league with teams based around Southampton, Portsmouth, Chichester, Eastleigh and Fareham. SSL runs a summer league from April, primarily at Tangier Field in Portsmouth, with two competitive divisions, while also supporting winter indoor leagues and tournaments. It welcomes experienced players and beginners through free taster sessions, development-team coaching and club practice. The league organises weekend events including the long-running FirstBall tournament and charity indoor tournaments, and maintains fixtures, results, league tables, team records and registration through TeamLinkt. Its elected committee oversees chairing, administration, finance, recruitment, tournaments, fixtures, welfare and umpiring. SSL is a local competition organiser, not a national governing body.
