Canada West - Basketball

Canada West Basketball is the men’s and women’s university basketball competition of Canada West (CW), a regional conference in Canadian university sport. Canada West serves member universities across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, with its champions progressing to U SPORTS national championships. The 2026–27 programme begins on 23 October, gives each team a 20-game regular season and concludes with single-elimination playoffs and a Final Four in late February. In the preceding men’s season, the Victoria Vikes won the Canada West title for the fourth time in five years. Canada West also approved Simon Fraser’s future participation in men’s and women’s basketball from 2027–28, subject to the relevant membership process.
