New York State Public High School Athletic Association

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) administers girls’ flag football as part of its statewide interscholastic championship programme. NYSPHSAA is a nonprofit, voluntary educational service organisation of public, parochial and private secondary schools that promotes equitable and safe competition, eligibility standards and sanctioned meets and tournaments. The association conducts the Flag Football Championships presented by NYCM Insurance in Class A, B and C. The 2026 state championship was held at Cortland High School and Homer High School on 6–7 June: Class C and Class A semifinals were played on 6 June, followed by Class B semifinals, with all three finals at Homer High School on 7 June. Half Hollow Hills East won Class A, Yorktown won Class B and Pioneer won Class C. The official tournament page provides the bracket, match schedule, scores, venues, championship and consolation outcomes, while the association’s classification tables define enrolment-based classes. Flag football is scheduled again for 5–6 June 2027 at Greece Central Schools. NYSPHSAA uses NFHS rules with approved state waivers; the 2026 adoption retained a no-field-goal provision, specified flag-belt and neutral-zone requirements, and made limited uniform accommodations to support programme access and transition.
