Big Sky Conference - Football

The Big Sky Conference administers NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision football across the western United States. Its 2026 football lineup has 13 teams following the additions of Southern Utah and Utah Tech; the conference schedule has nine league games for most teams, while one team plays eight because of the odd number of members. The 2026 schedule contains 58 games and opened conference competition in Week 0, a first for the league. Montana State won the 2025 FCS national championship, giving the Big Sky a second consecutive national title, and began 2026 among the conference leaders. The Big Sky’s football operations include conference standings, scheduling and representation on the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee.
