The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin administers NCAA Division III football for institutions in Illinois and Wisconsin, with Washington University in St. Louis also competing in the league. Ten teams played in 2025: Augustana, Carthage, Carroll, Elmhurst, Illinois Wesleyan, Millikin, North Central, North Park, WashU and Wheaton. North Central completed an unbeaten 9–0 conference season to win the 2025 CCIW championship outright, its fifth consecutive league title and 19th overall. The Cardinals extended their league-record winning streak to 51 games and received the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Football Championship. They reached the national final, where they finished the season 14–1. North Central entered the 2026 season as the unanimous CCIW preseason favorite, seeking a sixth straight championship, while Augustana holds the conference record with 21 football titles.
