New York State Public High School Athletic Association

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) administers the New York public high school softball state championship. Its official softball portal provides championship information, schedules, ticketing and state-level updates, while sectional associations conduct the earlier stages of the postseason. The 2026 NYSPHSAA Softball Championships were held on 12-13 June at Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park in Binghamton. Twenty-four teams reached the two-day state tournament across six classifications: AAA, AA, A, B, C and D. The semifinal schedule on 12 June began with Class A, followed by Class D, AAA, AA, B and C; all championship games followed on 13 June. The state championship pathway is described by NYSPHSAA as the result of league competition, sectional tournaments and regional play. The 2026 preview identified defending Class AAA champion Lancaster and defending Class B champion Chatham among returning contenders, while a new Class D champion was guaranteed because 2025 champion Hamilton did not qualify. NYSPHSAA also schedules the 2027 softball championships at the same Binghamton venue.
