Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association Softball

The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) administers the state high-school softball championship and the rules framework for member schools in Delaware. Its Softball Committee establishes tournament procedures, determines berths and sites, and conducts the state tournament. DIAA publishes competition dates, brackets, championship information, approved policies and tournament manuals, with semifinal and final games held at the University of Delaware. The programme applies NFHS softball rules and provides resources on field layout, uniforms, umpire signals and approved bats. Coaches and officials complete rules education, and officials must meet DIAA registration, examination and concussion-training requirements. DIAA’s softball activity is part of its statutory mandate to provide fair, safe and educational interscholastic athletics.
