City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine

The City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine provides youth and adult basketball, recreation programmes and public courts throughout Long Beach, California. Its free Recreational Youth Sports Program serves boys and girls aged five to fourteen. The programme focuses on enjoyable participation, character, skills, sportsmanship, perseverance, responsibility and healthy futures; participants are placed on park-based teams, each season has six games without playoffs, and every participant plays regardless of ability. Basketball is the winter youth-sports season. The Department's verified TeamSideline site is the official Long Beach Sports Website for schedules and league information. Adult basketball offers men's and women's divisions, ten regular-season games, single-elimination playoffs for qualifying teams and two officials per game; summer 2026 registration and subsequent seasonal dates were published by the portal. The Department lists 24 parks with basketball courts, including McBride Park's lighted outdoor court and gymnasium, and maintains a broader City court directory. This is a municipal recreation department, not an independent basketball federation.
