Friends Schools League

The Friends Schools League (FSL) is a co-educational high-school athletic league serving independent schools in the Philadelphia area. Founded in 1981, the league unites nine member schools around a Quaker vision of healthy competition, community, respect and student-athlete development. Basketball is a longstanding FSL varsity sport for both boys and girls. The league organises regular-season schedules, standings, results, playoff competition and All-League recognition, while also publishing historical championship records. Its constitution provides for single-round boys' and girls' basketball league play followed by playoffs and Quaker Cup competition; where nine teams participate, the top five qualify for the FSL playoffs and the remaining teams compete for the Quaker Cup. FSL also supports junior-varsity competition and publishes basketball calendars, team information and championship results through its official athletics website.
