Virginia High School League

Virginia High School League Basketball is the statewide interscholastic basketball programme administered by the Virginia High School League (VHSL). VHSL sets the season calendar, supports coach rules-clinic compliance, provides tournament information and coordinates boys’ and girls’ state championships for Virginia member schools. The championship pathway begins with region competition, followed by VHSL quarterfinals and semifinals at local sites, before the state finals at the VCU Siegel Center in Richmond. For the 2026–27 season, practice opens on 9 November and contests begin on 30 November; the state tournament is scheduled from 2 March through 13 March 2027. VHSL designates MaxPreps as its official bracket provider and directs schools, athletes and supporters to its official resources for brackets, all-state material, tournament formats, schedules and state-finals box scores.
