City of Montebello Recreation

City of Montebello Recreation and Community Services operates municipal youth and adult basketball programmes in Montebello, California. The department's Sports Division provides recreational activities for residents through traditional sports programmes for youth and adults. Youth basketball is offered in winter, with an additional outdoor basketball programme in summer, for children aged three to 15. The City describes the programme as one that teaches fundamentals, sportsmanship, respect, leadership and community-based relationships. Its TeamSideline basketball portal groups youth competition into Rookie, D, C, B and A/AA divisions and publishes schedules and standings. The City also runs adult basketball leagues for participants of all skill levels, promoting fitness, teamwork and community in a supportive setting. Basketball activity is supported by City facilities including the Cathy Hensel Youth Center indoor gymnasium and outdoor courts in several municipal parks. The department co-sponsors the Montebello Golden State Basketball Association alongside other local youth sports organisations.
