New York State Public High School Athletic Association
United States - Basketball
New York State Public High School Athletic Association Basketball is the statewide secondary-school basketball championship programme administered by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). NYSPHSAA is a non-profit, voluntary educational service organisation for public, parochial and private member schools offering interscholastic athletics to boys and girls in grades 7–12. Basketball is central to its history: the original statewide association of basketball leagues was created to establish consistent eligibility rules and conduct state tournaments, before NYSPHSAA was formed in 1923. The current boys’ and girls’ state championships use six enrolment-based classifications—AAA, AA, A, B, C and D. Each 2026 state tournament brought 24 teams to semifinals and finals over four days, with boys competing at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton and girls at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. NYSPHSAA publishes classifications, championship schedules, results, tickets, committee information and official event coverage; NFHS Network is its official streaming partner for basketball sub-regionals through finals.
