Upper Midwest Athletic Conference

The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) is an NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic conference. It began as the Twin Rivers Conference in 1972, adopted its present name in 1983 and became an NCAA Division III member in 2008–09. Current UMAC reporting identifies seven full-time members in Minnesota and Wisconsin: Bethany Lutheran College, Crown College, Martin Luther College, North Central University, the University of Minnesota Morris, the University of Northwestern and the University of Wisconsin–Superior. The conference conducts men’s and women’s basketball competition, publishes standings and organises postseason tournaments. Its official women’s tournament page confirms that the champion receives the automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship, while the conference announced that both 2025 basketball tournament champions advanced to NCAA Division III postseason play.
