Illinois High School Association

United States - Basketball

Illinois High School Association Basketball is the statewide interscholastic basketball programme governed by the Illinois High School Association (IHSA), a voluntary organisation of member secondary schools. IHSA administers boys’ and girls’ state series in four classifications—1A, 2A, 3A and 4A—through regional, sectional and super-sectional rounds leading to state semifinals, third-place games and championship finals. The association publishes schedules, scores, brackets, tournament structures, title tables, season summaries and historical records. In 2026, the girls’ 1A state final at CEFCU Arena was won by Mackinaw (Deer Creek-M.) over Mt. Pulaski, while Breese (Central) won 2A. The boys’ state finals at the University of Illinois in Champaign saw Chicago (Marshall) win 1A, East St. Louis win 3A and Chicago (Marist) win 4A. IHSA’s official resources are the authoritative source for state-series pairings, results and championship history.
