Homewood Parks and Recreation

Homewood Parks & Recreation is the municipal parks and recreation service for Homewood, Alabama. Its basketball programme provides recreational youth basketball for boys and girls from kindergarten through eighth grade, with an emphasis on fundamentals, teamwork, confidence and a positive playing experience. The winter youth recreation league opens registration in September and October, begins practices in November, plays games from December and concludes in February. The programme publishes age-group registration information, fees, seasonal dates, frequently asked questions and programme contacts. Homewood Parks & Recreation also supports Hoopswood, its boys' and girls' basketball pathway, for which participation in the recreation league is encouraged but is not mandatory. Athletics coordinators oversee the recreation basketball programme and Hoopswood liaisons. The department manages sports registrations, schedules and facilities for Homewood; its QuickScores portal publishes basketball fixtures, standings and results, including youth divisions by grade and gender.
